Cost-Effective Design of IoT-Based Smart Household Distribution System

The Internet of Things (IoT) plays an indispensable role in present-day household electricity management. Nevertheless, practical development cost-effective intelligent condition monitoring, protection, and control techniques for distribution systems is still a challenging task. This paper taking one step forward into implementation such by developing IoT Smart Household Distribution Board (ISHDB) to monitor various smart appliances. main function the developed ISHDB collecting storing voltage, current, power data presenting them user-friendly way. performance system investigated under residential electrical loads different energy consumption profiles. In this regard, Arduino-based working prototype employed gather collected ThingSpeak cloud through Wi-Fi medium. Blynk mobile application also implemented facilitate real-time monitoring individual consumers. Microprocessor technology adopted automate process, reduce hardware size cost. Experimental results show that can be used effectively home It detect any abnormal appliances their current voltage waveforms. A comparison other existing reveals superiority proposed method terms cost execution time.
